Week 3 - All about Neuron !!!

  Week 3 - All about Neuron !!!

Neurons are the basic building blocks of the nervous system and are responsible for transmitting information in the form of electrical signals. They play a crucial role in various physiological functions, including sensory perception, motor control, and cognitive processes such as thinking and memory. Neurons communicate with each other through specialized junctions called synapses, where chemical neurotransmitters are released to transmit signals from one neuron to another.

Gray matter is primarily composed of neuron somas (the round central cell bodies), and white matter is mostly made of axons (the long stems that connects neurons together) wrapped in myelin (a protective coating). The different composition of neuron parts is why the two appear as separate shades on certain scans.
